Extrinsic motivation is the term for motivation that emanates from outside your own. The inspiring factors are outside, or external, rewards like cash or grades. These types of incentives offer satisfaction and delight that the particular task itself might not provide.

An extrinsically inspired individual works on a project even when they may have little affinity for it as a result of expected fulfillment they are going to get through some compensation. The reward is something as modest like a smiley face to something significant like recognition or fortune. For instance, an extrinsically motivated individual that dislikes numbers might strive on a mathematics formula because would like the prize for doing it.
